인간은 자신의 근원을 탐구하며, 존재의 의미를 찾으려 한다. 우리는 창조자의 존재를 인식하고 있으며, 그 창조자가 우리를 어떤 존재로 바라보는지에 대한 질문을 던진다. 그는 우리를 미물로 여기고 있는가? 아니면 인간의 삶에 직접적인 영향을 미치고 있는가? 우리는 이에 대해 확신할 수 없다. 그러나 한 가지 분명한 것은, 인간의 모든 욕망과 탐구의 종착지는 결국 그 존재를 향해 나아가고 있다는 점이다.

이 작업은 기억의 기원과 존재의 시작을 탐색하는 과정이다. 창조자는 시작 이전부터 존재했으며, 어둠 속에서 세상을 만들어냈다. 우리는 그 어둠으로부터 독립하여 자신의 삶을 개척하지만, 결국은 그곳으로 다시 돌아가야 하는 운명을 가진다. 우리는 완전한 빛 속에서 태어나는 것이 아니라, 오히려 완전한 어둠 속에서 태어나 빛을 향해 나아가는 존재들이다.

창조자가 세상을 창조하기 직전에 느꼈을 외로움과 인고의 시간을 상상해본다. 그의 존재는 무질서한 외부로부터 우리를 보호하는 거대한 질서 속에 있었을지도 모른다. 인간의 기억 속에서 잊혀진 그 시작의 순간을 되새기며, 우리는 존재와 무한, 그리고 그 경계에서 어떤 의미를 찾아낼 수 있을까?

Human beings search into their origin and seek the meaning of existence. We recognize the presence of a Creator, and we ask how that Creator regards us. Does he consider us insignificant? Or does he act directly upon human life? Of this we cannot be certain. One thing is clear: every human desire and inquiry ultimately moves toward that presence.

This work is a search into the origin of memory and the beginning of existence. The Creator existed before the beginning, and brought forth the world out of darkness. We become independent of that darkness and forge our own lives, yet we are destined to return to it in the end. We are not born into perfect light; rather, we are beings born in perfect darkness, moving toward the light.

I imagine the loneliness and the long endurance the Creator must have felt just before creating the world. His being may have dwelt within a vast order that shelters us from the disorder outside. Recalling that forgotten moment of beginning within human memory — what meaning can we find in existence, in the infinite, and at the boundary between them?
